The forums were pretty dead anyway. I mean, who visited them?
Anyway, Hollow will be joining the admin team soon. Also, other fun stuff might happen. Stay tuned.

Well, it’s been a while since I last updated with some wallpapers, but today, I’m changing that.
As per request, I’ve been taking photos under the theme of ‘nature’. While not my best wallpapers, they were fun to make. (Even if I only DID go as far as the back garden) If you’d like to voice an opinion on them, feel free to drop a comment)
This was an interesting shot, and turned out better than expected. Very little Photoshop work done here, but I sorta regret some of it. Constructive criticism would be appreciated for this shot.
This shot happened purely out of chance. I was walking around, watching the wasps, flies and bees all buzz about over a particular part of the garden. Suddenly, I noticed two of the bees were a peculiar colour. I followed it around with my camera for a bit, and resulted with this photo. EXTREME luck it turned out like this.
Argh, I hate this one. The effect is nice, with the green dots behind, but it would look better if there were more dots, that gradually faded way, methinks. Also, mixed emotions on that text effect. COMMENT GOGOGO.
That’s all for now, although there’s more on the way for this collection.
(Also, notice you’ve got multiple screen resolutions? :3)
Yes, it is I, the System. I have returned to BridgeNinja.com to get you people in line, and to see my Androoy-poo. Just wanted to let everyone know I will once again be active and be assisting Andrew with site maintenance. And great news, I can access the site from my school, so I have more time for such things.
Tootles,
Austin
As many know, I occasionally make the odd pivot animation ,and post it around for being to have a look at, so they can help me improve. There’s a lot of sites that I visit other than BridgeNinja, (and the forums) including Pivot_Forum, Pivot Animation, Darkdemon and ever so rarely HippiePivot. However, a recent even has caused a massive hatred of darkdemon (the biggest pivot forum on the internet) from the HippiePivot crowd. All because of a single user.
As most of the active members here know, a user called AustinD/Transparent/Austin (Not System) used to administrate these forums, and also visit most of the pivot sites that I myself visit. After a while though, he began phishing for user accounts on Darkdemon and got himself IP banned (as well as banned here too) for breaching the rules. So all was well and fine on DD and BN, but Transparent was busy off hacking HP (or so I’ve been told) without the knowledge of DD’s administrators. HP is now down, and there is a large loathing from the HP community for DD. Why? Misunderstanding.
What HippiePivot claim is that Darkdemon didn’t control their problematic user, and as a result that user ran over to their site and went crazy. The staff at Darkdemon however technically DID deal with the user by banning him, thus he was no longer a problem to them. This would’ve caused the HP members to be upset (they just lost their forum, and have been rejected help to get vengeance) and started to whinge on DD. By whinging, they would have irritated the staff, who lash out at the sad HP members. The HP members take this behaviour as suspicious, and consider that maybe Darkdemon had angled for HP to be hacked, thus the hate war was initiated.
My opinion? Darkdemon could have been more patient, and HippiePivot could have been less irritating. I of course, am not directly involved in this incident, so while I’m not as biased as some who ARE involved may be, I also don’t understand as much as someone part of this event may grasp. So if you feel like asking questions, or correcting my misinterpretations of the events, give us a comment. Because comments make me happy.
Hey everyone, just putting word out that there will be a new theme for BridgeNinja forums up shortly. (I’ve picked the theme, and now I’m making slight modifications to certain elements) The new blog theme will be delayed yet again, but hopefully not by too much.
Also, I’ve cleaned up the ‘Afilliates’ widget, so that the dead/irrelevant links have been removed. If anyone wants to affiliate their website with BridgeNinja, feel free to give word in the comments.
Another note is that the forums have had a lot of updates, and so I strongly recommend you visit now and enjoy the fun. (There’s also a great competition where you can earn prizes here) There should be another competition following not too much later, so stay peeled for any updates.
On a topic irrelevant to BN, I have invites for Lockerz and Google Wave to give out. (for those of you who don’t know, Google Wave is a communications platform, similar to email and social networks. Lockerz is a reward scheme site, but isn’t focused on hierarchy of payment, so isn’t going to loose it’s value with time) In order to use either service, you must have an invite. I have an unlimited supply of Lockerz invites, and 12 Wave invites. If anyone is interested, feel free to sound off in the comments and I’ll contact you shortly after.
S’all I have everyone, enjoy.
Just a short update today, I made a Vestyman wallpaper a good month or two ago from now at a different location, and the subject being an explosion of Vestyman. I hadn’t brought my thumbdrive, so I asked Vestyman to put the .psd and .jpg on his drive, and email it to me once he had got home. He’s given me the .jpg, but not the .psd, so, until he gives me the .psd, I can’t release a full-sized wallpaper. HOWEVER, I do have the “Individuality” wallpaper from LiquidLogic (my former blog) with a new, smaller watermark, saved as .png, and available to all below, along with a Vestyman .jpg. (I’ll update them both to a bigger size, and Vestyman’s Explosion to a .png when possible)
Enjoy, and feel free to voice any opinions or comments!
Good lord it’s been too far long, wouldn’t you say there old chaps?
So first off, playlist.com has some licensing issues regarding its music, and Australia is actually no longer having music streamed here. Since the majority of BN’s users are Australian, I’ve taken the playlist down for now, until either a) I find a new site to share music with, b) playlist.com becomes available for Australians, or c) I start composing my own music.
But the is good news; a big surprise came from the Forum. A sudden activity spike happened, and now I’m ecstatic. For this I must give some credit to our moderator Vestyman, who has helped by advertising and posting rigorously. Kudos Vesty!
Aside from this, I’m open for any art, Flash or Pivot related requests, including wallpapers, stickmen, actionscripted material, forum signatures, and general resources. Just post below and I’ll let you know if I can have it done and when by. Please note I may delay if issues arise while creating whatever I’m making for you.
One other thing; more comments guys! I want to hear what you have to say, about anything and everything. G-g-g-go!
(Link to site in image)Every now and then I look around for site’s my friends have made, and like to have a browse of what they’ve done. One brilliant site I’ve seen is Epyks, a site made by Jon/Skype. (Get the joke anyone?) Epyks is similar to BridgeNinja, in that it provides a portfolio of creations, as well as a forum and blog. So now, I’m going to look at the site and each of the sections to it, and introduce you to a new, magical, wonderful world. A more grander world. A more epyk world.
Epyks.net forums is a great, laid back group, similar to our own forums, but with way more people in it. (But you guys are going to bring up the activity, riiiiight?) Epyks Forums also run on PHPBB, which is possibly the best freely available forum software to date. There’s a clean, attractive theme to the forum (but its just as unrelated to the site’s theme as our forum is to the blogs. Which is shabby by the way) and bright, contrasting colours for staff members, so you know whos who.
Epyks also has a great music player, like ours, but has it’s own homemade music. (While we have a collection of songs from my playlist. I should probably start making my own music too.
) The player has simple navigation, with a minimalist approach to design, and shows off the cover art of each song to the left of the song list. The player looks a little out-of-place, being a contrasting white to the site’s black/blue theme. There’s currently 15 songs to listen to, so head on over and have a listen.
Another attraction of Epyks is the gallery of themes on offer. Jon creates brilliant pieces freely available to the public, which vary in style, colour and shape. While not drastically complex, the templates are clean and effective ways to show off site content, without making the surrounding page look unattended. However theme’s that Jon has made for Epyks don’t ever appear in the templates section, which is somewhat disappointing for me, as they’re some of the most beautiful works you’ll find.
As well as tutorials, Epyks has a Photoshop gallery and several gaming servers that run Minecraft and Counter Strike: Source. Unfortunately though I haven’t tested these servers, and thus can’t review them. However, I can report the tutorials are well presented, and easy (very easy) to understand. The Photoshop gallery is decent work, but mostly just forum tags and the like. There are a few more impressive works in there, (such as his ‘cloud’ tag) but most of it is somewhat mediocre.
One other interesting feature of Epyks is the blog’s update system – the blog posts are in fact made from the forum, and are presented on the front page under a different template. (So basically, the front page is a pretty version of the updates forum
) Strangely RSS isn’t available as of now, but I’d imagine this is only a temporary issue.
Overall Epyks is a nice site, and if you want to waste time on something for a while, it has plenty for you to do and see. The forums also allows you to voice your thoughts and opinions to Jon himself, as well as other members of the Epyks community.
Now some may know me as an avid Starfox player, and one of my favourite characters is DEFINITELY Star Wolf. So when I saw these the floodgates just couldn’t hold.
My own little spin:
Wolf: Can’t let you find that, Firefox.
Leon: IE has ordered us to flame you down.
Pigma: Mozilla! Long time no see!
Andrew: Microsoft’s enemy is MY enemy!
